Nicelys in Lee Vining

I always arrive getting some food in this place. I like the rapid service and well made food. They never disappoint.

A really good local place to have breakfast. I ordered a breakfast combo with pancakes, eggs, and corned beef. The food was tasty and satisfying. The day before I got Fried Chicken and I loved it because the saltiness was just right and not too oily, yet crispy. I shared a Pastrami Reuben sandwich and it was also delicious.

First of all, the music here is great! They play music from the 50s, from artists like Ritchie Valenz, Buddy Holly, The Harptones and Patsy Cline. Our server, Luz, was very tentative, helpful, friendly and made us feel welcomed. She described the various meals for us, when we asked about certain dishes. She kept our glasses filled with iced tea, and was never far away when we needed something. The food here is delicious! It's served hot, well seasoned and very filling. I wished I could have had a slice of pie, but I just didn't have room for it. I ordered "Jaime's Special," which is a vegetarian sandwich with cheese and avocado. Vegetarian dishes seldom fill me up, but I could only eat half of that one. When we find ourselves in Lee Vining again, we will definitely be going back to Nicely's.

Want to know what dinners were like in the 70s? This has that atmosphere, a throwback to the good old days 😋. The menu is what you expect of a diner, good old fashioned American comfort food: hamburgers, sandwiches, fried chicken. But there are some updates and more vegetarian options. Still Lee Vining is about as far as you can get from the snazzy metros of California, so don't expect farm to table here. We had breakfast here as well. The portions are gigantic. We didn't have to eat lunch that day. Pretty standard American breakfast. Filling and not fancy.Super nice service matching the name. And after a great day of skiing, hiking, climbing, or a few days camping or backpacking, the comfort food will fill your stomach nicely! 😀

The food is on point. We had a hearty breakfast here. Veggie omlette, oatmeal, bagels and chocolate sundae! Warm atmosphere for a winter morning and friendly staff. Not giving a 5 star for the long time to get food on the table.

Great pit stop along the road that is open all seasons. Super reasonable prices and friendly staff. We had breakfast here and the menu was pretty short but had enough to make a decision.

I'll start with noting that this is one of the few places in Lee Vining that is open in the Fall/Winter shoulder season, and if you end up there in November you'll see why this is significantSo, it's an old-fashioned family-style diner with good food and plenty of it. Imagine everything you wish a Denny's could be, and this is pretty much it plus some. The food is good, the staff is nice, the atmosphere cozy, and a good place to plan a day's adventures. The biscuits and gravy are good, but get the hash. They're quite proud of it and for good reason.

The chili was NOT good. Burgers were ok. Wont go there again

I went to Lee Vining after a poor night's sleep at 9000 feet needing warmth and water. Stopped in the first diner that was open. Nicely's is a classic diner with classic diner food. What was special is the food was perfectly cooked. The hash browns were crispy. The eggs were just as I ordered them (over medium, whites set and yolks runny). The English muffin spent enough time in the toaster to get crispy and a bit caramelized. And the staff was kind and patient as I tried to wake up. I will admit the coffee was not good. It too was classic diner food. You can only take it so far. I was well fed for the hike up Mono Pass.

Average biscuits and gravy. If you love mustard you'll probably like their bastardized version of Eggs Benedict. The hashbrowns were average. The hot chocolate was good. Also the waitress barely checked on us.

Food was good. Pretty typical diner food. Doesn't have Heinz ketchup which sucks. Ambience was fab. Service was great.

OK, this goes back a ways but in 1992 my wife and I were in our way back from Bike Fest in Mariposa, a wonderful event the city did away with a long time ago. We broke down up in Yosemite on the motorcycle and Shelly from the Lee Vining Shell station came all the way up to rescue us. We wound up at Nicelys since it was my birthday and my wife offered to buy me a drink. I told her I had no intention of getting my a** kicked by a bunch of locals after the day we had had. So anyway, we went in and in less than ten minutes we were in Nicelys and everyone was singing me happy birthday. They wouldn't let us buy our own beer. I've never forgotten and I will always go back. They treated us as friends and now we are. They are the best.

Good food, great help and good pricing. What more can there be . Oh. Clean environment .

Nicely Nicely. Glad they are still open in the winter, even if it's only 5 days a week. Always a full dinner menu and great breakfasts. Also don't miss the Mono Lake Visitors Center and book store a block away when in Lee Vining.

Nicely's once again lived up to their name. Their service is top notch and their food was very good. Even though they're known for their fried chicken dinner, I decided that I just didn't want to finish off that much chicken (you literally get half a chicken), so I opted for the 1/2 lb hamburger with fries. All excellent. My family went with the fried chicken dinner, two of them splitting it between them. All of us left happy.

Love the food and ambience. We were travelling from Yosemite national park to lake Tahoe, we wanted to go South Tufa and on the way we spotted this place. It was really crowded but we enjoyed the food. Great place to stop by.

You pay for the service. Could get much better food at mono cone for half the price. The 1/2 jumbo juicy burger was only juicy in the dressings. Over cooked burger for sure

The chicken special is delightful :) Nicelys is also the only place open for dinner during the winter... we were thankful for the full bar, good prices, and great service!

Lovely place... been here everytime we are in the Mono lake region. Food is delicious and comforting. Very conveniently located. Good and relaxing place.

This spot clearly knows how to take care of their customers. Constantly with a helpful demeanor. The food is reasonably priced, always delightful and clean.

The food was mediocre at best,. but I had a huge issue with how the staff handled the Covid-19 seating situation. Restaurants are supposed to seat every other table, and Nicely's seated EVERY available table. They are not only putting their staff at risk, but their customers as well. I don't recommend going unless you are willing to get Covid-19. So disappointing.

One of many places that I had the pleasure of eating at. Skip the fast food. Places like Nicely's are far better and comparable in price. Can't go wrong here.

Nice ambiance, nice food, good people and lot of choices.I tried the Mike's favorite sandwich. It is a chicken sandwich with mushroom inside. and it was absolute yum. They have good vegetarian option as well.They serve black tea as well.

Quick service, plentiful meals, home cooked food, long history in town so you know they must be doing it right!

I simply enjoyed their food. I always get fantastic customer service there. The place is always clean and the staff members are always nice. Will come visit again.

I liked the garden omelet I ordered with cauliflower. Broccoli, grilled mushrooms, and cheddar cheese. This place is pretty much the only page to grab a bite in the area especially if you have been driving for quite some time. You can also stay nearby as well. They have these framed photos that are beautiful. They have mono lake, Yosemite, and a death valley. They also have Yosemite honey. They have cute magnets of mono lake and others you might enjoy. Friendly attentive waitress. If you get a chance cross the street and you can see the lake. They also have somewhat of a little trail across the street from the Lakeside motel. You will see the sign/plaque.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Everything on the menu is awesome. The waitress is the sweetest lady in the world. And the booths and tables are very comfortable. My favorite thing on the menu is the golden fried chicken but I am also a fan of the Juicy Jumbo and the nicely's special sandwich. Great place to stop going to and from mammoth and you will not have to wait to be seated or have to deal with ridiculous prices.

We always come here when ever we stay in June Lake. It seems their food is getting worse by the year. Will definitely not come back. So sad because we love this place.

The the service was nice and professional, but the kitchen messed up our order. The only really tasty thing was chicken broth... Try to dine somewhere else if you can.

Fried chicken dinners are good. Forget the rest too many microwaved meals. Breakfast is pretty bad.

This diner has treated me the best and deserves more love than it has. Anyone who says otherwise clearly has not tasted their food. I would return but’s a whole state away. Best service and best food!

Nicely's is a diner with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. We went there for breakfast and I ordered an omlette and pancakes. Both dishes were very delicious. The coffee was also good and with refill. My friend had the belgian waffle but he didn't like the taste.

The best food in town! Blueberry pie is the bomb!

Good lunch at nicely’s. I had a club sandwich with a cup of soup. They forgot the ham on my club so it was just a turkey and bacon sandwich. But it was still delicious. Good place to stop right off the highway.

We are visiting the area and have eaten all of our meals here. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.
